I have been lucky enough to be selected to enter the Entrepreneurial class based on Yong Zhao’s theories of education. My aim is to create a business where I am buying, fixing and selling old cars, ute’s and trailers that has needed fixing up to get roadworthy and sell it for people that need a cheap car/ute/trailer for transportation to get them from A to B and then they can take/pick up heavy items and take places in the back of your ute/trailer.

Instead of having to hire or use a friend’s vehicle or trailer you can buy a cheap one and use it whenever you want to and not having to wait for friends or hire one it is a lot easier than having to stuff around trying to borrow or hire one of them.

My week starts off by working on my ute on Monday then I go to school Tuesday, Wednesday, then on Thursday I go out into the workplace - CMV trucks. Where I work on trucks and buses and Friday I go to school.

During school time I attend Mathematics, Automotive and TLC classes in conjunction with the program.
Within the program we hold many discussions with our mentor teachers and coordinator. We discuss how our businesses are going and get the opportunity to problem solve any issues we may have discovered or brainstorm with our team.

This Entrepreneurial class is helpful for kids that aren’t as good at normal school classes and Traralgon College has given us the opportunity to do things that we prefer to do rather then the school classes and we will be able to get better at what we want to do so it will help us when we want to get a job.

I enjoy this program, I think it will be good for people coming up to year 10 and would like to do what some of us kids in here this year except they need to listen to be able to do it otherwise it won’t work.

Doing this project I have gotten a lot better at panel beating because of all the dints in the ute so now I have pulled some dints out and filled some dints in with some bog and I cut a peace out of the bottom of the passenger door and hit back to shape and then welded it back in and I have now painted it and looks better than I thought it would.
