My interests are photography, film making, music and artsy stuff like makeup.

I chose to join this program because rather than doing an elective I wasn’t interested in. I wanted to pick something that I would prefer to do and activities that I wanted to do, rather than having to do what a teacher wants me to do for a career path.

In the future I would like to do something involved with either makeup or film making/ taking photos.

We are focusing on photography and also writing articles for our project. We started off doing film making but there wasn’t much we could do that we could sell to help benefit others. So we began a different project that involved taking photos and writing articles for the school magazine.

As much as we wanted to do our short film we didn’t get much success out of this as we didn’t exactly think this could become a big career as it wouldn’t go very far. So after talking to Mr Wyers we decided we would stay on the same type of path but we would try something a bit different that could lead to a potential career path.

We have written an article for the school magazine about this project and why it started and what other students are doing in it. We interviewed Mr Wyers and a few students who are doing the project that are all doing something a bit different to each other. We basically just asked what they wanted to get out of the project and why they decided to start it. We sent that to the newsletter and got paid $20 each for doing so. This process took about a week and a bit to interview the people we did as well as write it all into an article.

At the beginning of the program, before we switched from the film making, we got a few students outside of the program to get involved in a small video about Donald Trump and what their personal opinions were on him and we edited and put that together just for practise.

I’ve improved on my writing skills by doing the article; I used a lot of techniques I had previously learnt from English classes.

Lucy taught me about different functions on the camera like the ISO function, and we went out and took pictures that we have to show in out portfolios for practise. I learnt a lot about the certain lighting/darkness in pictures and how much light I actually let into the picture that affects the quality of the pictures.
